MADE IN BRIGHTON Makers Market 28th&29th July
A fun but very windy weekend selling the Little Things i Make down at the Brighton Marina. It was great to have a two day event. It's a wonderful venue & I hope the organisers will look into having it more than once a year.
As I said, it was very windy & I had to cellotape nearly everything down (including my dress - bad choice of attire). I made lots of new crafty friends & contacts! I will hopefully have another Christmas Open House lined up as well...Watch this space.
Biggest sellers were the Fish'n'Chips Brooch Set https://www.etsy.com/listing/102701170/fish-n-chips-brooch-set Customers were enthusiastic about the new Seaside Range of designs :)
I also made a Large Foxy Friend with a very snazzy swimsuit especially for the Marina - unfortunately she didn't sell but she definitely attracted a lot of interest (& had a lovely time sunbathing !)
Thanks to all the lovely folk at The Laughing Dog Cafe & Gallery x
*sorry pics aren't great - taken on my phone*

ARTY BOUTIQUE Market@Lime Cafe Worthing
A fun day spent with a couple of crafty pals in Worthing for the ARTY BOUTIQUE Market which was part of the Worthing AOH in June.
It was a great venue. Unfortunately a little slow but we were entertained by a flute playing storyteller and an OAP choir! It was a real experience.... ;-)

Who likes Fish 'n' Chips?
...I know I do!!!
I have started designing a Seaside Range of Little Things i Make with the Brighton summertime in mind (HA! *looks out the window at the torrential rain*) This Fish 'n' Chips Brooch set is the first finished piece. I have started designing crabs, seagulls, ice-creams and pebble brooches as well as thinking about customizing a few of my existing creations (eg. A Foxy Friend in a bikini...).
These Fish 'n' Chips Brooch sets are in my Little Things i Make etsy shop NOW! Keep an eye out for promotional codes to receive FREE P&P.

Jubilee Craft Fairs (Makers Boutique & Craftaganza)
Saturday 2nd June
The first Saturday of June. It can only mean one thing.
Makers Boutique Market!!! http://makersboutique.webeden.co.uk/
The first day of the 4 day Jubilee Holiday started off bright and sunny but unfortunately it was short lived. The only draw back to having a stall outside the Unitarian Church - having to quickly adapt to the changeable British weather. A few of my Foxy Friends went flying in the wind on more than one occasion but being a British crafter, I stoically persevered with a smile on my face and a Foxy Friend on my arm. (The bitter shandy I had may have helped a little too...)
Customers kept asking me where my 'Jubilee Stock' was so after explaining that I didn't really want to spend a lot of time making stock that I might be stuck with for another 60 years ;) - I made a few Jubilee Crown Brooches (sold them all!) and gave my Foxy Friend a snazzy new crown. It seemed to do the trick.
Tehe.

Monday 4th June
The start of a very exhausting but rewarding couple of days at the Brighton Craftaganza Summer Fair in the Fabrica Gallery and I had my usual pitch :) I love being nestled between those two pillars. It feels a little like my very own shop (keep dreaming Lucy...)http://brightoncraftaganza.wordpress.com/
These handmade cards were also made especially for the Jubilee but I think they are perfect greeting cards for all year round. 'God Save The Fox'.
Grumpy Little TWO-FACE! I made a few of these guys again on the Sunday. They are always a hit. USP = They are great mood indicators.
Oh look, it's the Queen hanging out in the FREE WORKSHOP CORNER teaching a bit of crochet to the masses. How very generous Ma'am is with her precious time, especially on the Jubilee holiday ;-)
In all seriousness now - Craftaganza really went to town this month on it's organization, promotion and the brilliant addition of the Free Workshop Corner. It was great to see kids & adults alike sitting down and trying their hand at crochet and needlework. I saw the SuperSuperHQ girls teaching a bit of handkerchief tapestry on the Tuesday as well. http://supersuperhq.com/2012/06/07/a-super-june-craftaganza/
Cheeky!
The Fabrica Gallery: What a great venue!!! Definitely one of my favourite Brighton Craft Events! & it was especially fun this year due to the toe tapping playlist selection courtesy of the fabulous Kirstin Stride http://kirstinstride.com/ It had everyone dancing behind their stalls even when the heavens opened on the Tuesday afternoon.
Me & the Little Things i Make looking unusually bashful...
Possibly the best cushions EVER (but maybe not one's for your Gran's sofa ^.^)I HAVE to get one next time I see Deborah http://www.thepinkminx.co.uk/
*PHEW* Well that about summed up my Jubilee Holiday. Twas very crafty indeed and I wouldn't have had it any other way :) A big thankU to all the crafty organizers and also to everyone that was out at the Foundry Street Party on the Monday evening - what a hoot! If only it could be Jubilee every year...
BFW2012 Fashionista-Fox Brooches
I was lucky enough to be approached by Carmen Jose to make something to put in the VIP Goody Bags at the Brighton Fashion Week 2012 shows. I jumped at the chance and after a little deliberation I designed these Little Fashionista Fox Brooches. http://www.brightonfashionweek.com/
I wanted to make something small that would not only represent my work but also look cool enough to wear at a fashion show. I obviously also wanted to get my details out to as many people as possible :D Each Fox Brooch was attached to a *bling* card with all my details on the reverse. The brooch & card then was packaged in a cute little brown envelope - like a special little fashion pressie!! ^.^
I had some great feedback and I have already had people contacting me off the back of BFW2012! Not only did I have so much fun designing and making them but I also got onto the guest list for the BFW2012 Launch@Create Studios, Brighton Frocks & the Zeitgeist Fashion Shows. It was a real treat to see the creations of the best of Brighton designers.
